Gong Yoo Reveals Why Being Real Gong Ji Cheol Is Hard And More

One of Korea’s most renowned actors Gong Yoo talked about the nature of his personality, his preferences and more in a guest appearance on tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block.”

Gong Yoo is famous for his works in television dramas, Coffee Prince(2007) and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God(2016–2017), and the films, Train to Busan(2016) and more.

Although he has won the hearts of many Korean women due to his amazing performances, he doesn’t feel like he can be the person whom women can easily prefer. He added that he likes things being simple and he always wants to be his true self. He further mentioned he is not that courageous and bold towards love, he is simply more of an absent-minded type of person.

As many of you might not know, his real name is Gong Ji Cheol, but he is known for his stage name, Gong Yoo which is a combination of his father’s last name “Gong” and of his mother’s last name “Yoo”.

During the interview, he shared why being real Gong Ji Cheol is hard. He added that he is very bad at confessions because doing that in real life makes him blush and cringey. He mentioned that he feels more comfortable in doing a lot of things including confessions and being affectionate in fictional characters in movies and dramas than in real life.

He further revealed he feels very satisfied whenever he does something in movies or dramas that he cannot perform or feel too uncomfortable to perform in real life and that’s the reason why he loves acting.

Gong Yoo will be next seen in movie Seo Bok alongside Park Bo Gum and Jang Young Nam. Gong Yoo plays the role of Gi Heon, a former intelligence agent. Seo Bok will release on December 2, 2020.
