BLACKPINK held their first online concert ‘THE SHOW’ on January 31 at 2 p.m KST. It was broadcast live worldwide via YouTube Music.
According to a report from YouTube, about 280,000 people watched the online concert. The average price of the online ticket was 42,000 won. If the ticket prices of all the viewers are counted, the net total would be around 11.7 billion won(approx.10,510,000 USD). It means BLACKPINK earned over 11.76 billion won from their 90-minute online concert.
BLACKPINK performed on their 19 hit songs including ‘Kill This Love,’ ‘Whistle’, ‘DDU-DU-DU-DU,’ ‘Pretty Savage,’ ‘Lovesick Girls,’ and more. The members also presented solo performances, with Jisoo performing Tove Lo’s ‘Habits’, and Lisa singing Doja Cat’s ‘Say So.’ Jennie delivered a remixed version of ‘SOLO’ and Rosé sang her debut solo song ‘Gone’ for the first time.
‘THE SHOW’ is the first fee paying online concert to be held on YouTube. It is the first time that YouTube has signed an exclusive contract with an artist to broadcast an online concert for a fee. An official of YG Entertainment revealed: “We were thinking about on which platform to broadcast BLACKPINK’s first online concert. YouTube suggested this method and we agreed.”
